This position has been designated as weather and emergency essential.
In the event of a University closure or emergency event, incumbent is required to report to work and respond as requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of:
1.
Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment.
2.
Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely.
3.
Methods, tools and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely and to make minor repairs.
Ability to:

Follow simple oral and written instructions.
5.
Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.
6.
Keep simple records.

Prior to the date of appointment, this position requires a criminal background check conducted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).
Preferred Qualifications 1.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

Knowledge of the proper use of MSDS sheets, Right-to-Know regulations/Global Harmonization Standards (GHS), OSHA, Blood-borne Pathogen Standards, the proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), along with other safety practices required by local, state and federal regulations.

Ability to work different shifts and flexibility to work overtime when needed.

Work in a variety of adverse weather conditions.

Work above the ground level such as on ladders and scaffolding.

Work in buildings after ventilation systems have been shut off.

This position requires a passing background check under Kari Koskinen.
It is expected that the employee maintains the ability to pass applicable background check throughout employment.
It is the employee's responsibility to notify the supervisor no later than the beginning of your next shift of any charges, allegations, convictions that may impact their standing under the applicable background check.

Based on the essential functions of this positions, MMB Policy #1422, and University policies relating to flexible work, this position is eligible for the following work modes:
Exclusively On Campus:
A position that requires the employee to perform all their work at their campus work location.
