Summary:
The Director of Logistics Operations will oversee and manage the operations of Yourway Transportation- Worthington, Owatonna Logistics and Mankato Logistics.
Currently managing total team members of approximately 20 people.
Main office in Mankato with regular visits to Worthington/Owatonna sites.
Leadership
Responsibilities:
Hires, trains, and manages the site Logistics Managers for 3 logistics facilities, responsible for all logistics functions.
Oversees the productivity and growth of the logistics centers.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Handles performance management issues as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Work to achieve profit goals and metrics.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Develops the logistics facility to provide a variety of services including warehousing, distribution, full-service transportation including brokerage, materials management, and fulfillment services.
Gathers needed information on and understanding of customer demands; meets specific needs for transloading, just-in-time shipping, distribution, and fulfillment.
Builds and maintains relationships with customers and prospects to identify opportunities for new services and further expansion of logistics facility.
Keeps focus on the growth and overall success of current facilities as well as the potential to add new sites.
Identifies problems and inefficiencies in logistics processes; presents and implements enhancements and solutions to address these issues.
Maintains current knowledge of logistics and technology developments and trends; recommends and implements improvements based on this knowledge to provide more efficient service to clients.
Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company's efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
Implements policies and procedures that will improve productivity and growth of the business.
Identifies and implements synergies throughout the companies.
Ensures work environments are adequate and safe.
Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to lead through changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
Excellent analytical skills.
Ability to perform multiple tasks and a variety of duties.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient with computer-based management systems for inventory control, shipping operations, and fulfillment services.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Computer Science / related field or equivalent experience preferred.

years of experience in distribution or transportation industry required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Job Type:

$80,000.
